Known for his dynamic personality, sincere passion and knowledge of all things random, Ed originally went to school to become a physical therapist assistant but the overachiever in him didn’t stop there. After completing his PTA degree, Ed went back to school to become an Occupational Therapist. His inspiration for therapy came from the challenge of figuring out how to make people better. A board member of Parkinson’s Foundation, Keiser University PTA Board, MSOT Board, COTA Board. Winner of the Employer of the Year Awarded by Keiser University in 2017 and a member of The Movement Disorder Society of Florida. As the Director of Therapy, Ed continuously dreams up unique and innovative treatment programs for the patients and brings them to fruition. The best part of his job is seeing the treatments work and the patients seeing success.

Mom to her two kids and the entire staff at FLMTC, Jodi secretly loves to dance and break it down at Bruce Springsteen concerts. Although she originally aspired to be a teacher, Jodi received her physical therapy degree at Boston University and now uses her role as the Clinic Director (and Company Mom) to teach the staff necessary skills to becoming successful. Her favorite part of working at FLMTC is seeing the therapists and staff interact with the patients and putting smiles on their faces while making them feel better.

Chief Excitement Officer, Roy Cohen is a proud Atlanta native and bleeds red, black and white during football season (Go Dawgs!). Although he still doesn’t know what he wants to be when he grows up, he has been enjoying his newest role as a grandfather. A jazz music aficionado, Roy enjoys sipping on a good scotch while attending spin classes at the gym and playing the piano.

A Boston native, Christina and her family are new Florida residents and reside in Parkland. Christina is responsible for Accounts Payable, Billing and General Accounting.

As a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, Jeff recently moved to Florida and is known around town for his notable, contagious laugh. After his career as a movie star didn’t go as planned, Jeff received his Masters of Occupational Therapy Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Although he claims not to have any secret talents, Jeff is very good at spilling coffee on himself daily and quoting his favorite movie, Groundhog Day. Jeff’s favorite part about working at Florida Movement Therapy Centers is building relationships with his patients and watching them get better.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lorene is a seamstress by trait and a therapist by choice. After receiving her first sewing machine at just 6 years old, Lorene first got her degree in fashion design before chasing her dream to become a therapist. Lorene has always enjoyed helping people and physical therapy gave her the opportunity to take that to the next level. Although she will always have a knack for DIY projects, Lorene’s favorite part about working for Florida Movement Therapy Centers is the level of service she’s able to provide to her patients.

Nebraska is not only the birthplace of the Reuben Sandwich, but also the home of Kortnee, the Clinic Manager of the Boca Raton facility. Kortnee received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University after deciding she wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. Growing up, Kortnee was a professional on the bars and beam and almost made it as an Olympic gymnast. Now she prefers to keep her workouts simpler by lifting weights and doing yoga. It is the positive energy that the staff, patients and their families create, that makes her job at Florida Movement Therapy Centers fun.

Originally from Key West, Florida, Savanna pursued her dream to be a physical therapist in New York and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Daemen College. After working in New York City as a Physical Therapist, Savannah was ready to get back to her roots and away from the cold. She moved back to Florida to continue her career. Savannah’s favorite part of working at Florida Movement Therapy Centers is helping people and changing their lives for the better.

Like most other Long Islanders, Kaitlyn loves to dance around her West Palm Beach home with her dog Jaxson to Billy Joel. After giving up her dream to be in the WNBA and receiving her master’s degree from Springfield College, Kaitlyn left the bitter cold winters in the north for sunny South Florida. Quickly after becoming part of the Florida Movement Therapy Center family, she grew to become a Clinic Manager and is always ready to learn and try new things.

Born in Madrid and raised in Puerto Rico, Federico Balet moved to Florida in 1980 and has been enjoying the sunshine ever since. Inspired by those with Parkinson’s disease, Federico became a Rock Steady Boxing Affiliate in 2012 to help them move, smile and feel empowered. Certified exercise enthusiast by day, Federico is secretly a professional classical musician and grilling chef by night.

Tucker is originally from Shippensburg, PA. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science: Exercise Science (West Chester University of PA); Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (University of the Sciences in Philadelphia). He Lives in Ft. Lauderdale and is a Certified Personal Trainer.

Derek is originally from Chattanooga, TN., but now lives in Boca Raton. He went to Keiser University. Is certified in LSVT BIG®. He has 2 kids, 3 dogs, and loves to fish.

Laura is originally from Medina, OH., but now lives in Coral Springs. She attended Bowling Green State University and Arcadia University.

He holds a BS in Social Science, and an Associate’s degree for Physical Therapy Assistant, and is a Certified Personal Trainer. “I am passionate about helping people achieve their maximum level of function to not only live and get by, but to thrive. I look at each encounter with clients as an opportunity to make a lasting positive impact.”
